Part of me is screaming and cursing.Reason 1- Michael Brown has the majority of the non-Democratic vote for city council. I'm so unhappy about that.
Reason 2- I regret that Jessica Lanza was not able to secure the seat for ANC2C03 with only 40% of the vote, according to the unofficial results.
The results between Chapple vs Thorpe and Sule vs Curtis look good, close, but it appears that the puppet show may come to and end, Praise be to G-d. And of course Padro wins by a landslide.
Over in Ward 5, Anita Bonds wins over the tree killer Jerry Mack. Sadly Ted Mcginn is behind Sylvia Pinkney. And Mark Jones, who had no spelling errors on his signs, got the DC School Board seat for Ward 5.

I've got this theory that Brown and Mara were actually the same person, and that person is the Chamber of Commerce's designated replacement for Schwartz.
Their rhetorical window dressing and their nominal (and marginal) bases may be different, but I think the big picture substance will prove to be the same.

The defeat over Thorpe was a higher number, so it seems the puppet show is now more. Let's hope he gives up his Parliamentarian role and meetings can become normal and we can progress as a united ANC.

Thankfully, with three votes against her when elections come around for 2009, Doris Brooks will no longer hold her seat as Chair of the commission, thus relieving Leroy of his Parliamentarian duties. Praise be.
